Pratt's views that topography is made by crystal blocks with different density that ends at uniform depth whereas Airy's views of isotacy and mountain range can be thought as block of lithosphere (crust) floating.
Airy's views depicts blocks of same density descending to varying depths inside the mantle as their elevation above sea level increased whereas Pratt's blocks rests on continuous-depth mantle and decreases in density with elevation increasing.

Both sir airy and archen pratt developed the isostatic models and each implieling the state of hydrostatic equilibrium.
Explanation:
- The airy hypothesis states that the earth's crust is more rigid shells that float on a liquid substratum which has a greater density.
- If the thickness of the crustal layer is not uniform then this hypothesis supports that thicker parts will sink down and lighter will float.
- For an example of roots of mountains that are below the surface are much larger and the majority of its parts are under the water so that one-fourth part of it stays above.
- J.H Pratt developed the hypothesis stated that the earth's crust has uniform thickness and areas of the earth that are lesser in density are projected to be higher than seafloor than do those that have greater density.
