Mass wasting is in the form of landslides etc. when the soil moves down due to deforestation. Weathering is the breaking up of rocks due to natural agents which takes place for a long time. Rate! Rate! weakening of rocks is weathering, due to gravity the withered particles are moved is mass wasting.
