The term "secularism" was not initially in constitution (perhaps founding fathers were wise enough to see though it). It was later added as 42ns amendment (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fo...) by someone who went on to suspend the entire constitution. The move was political in nature and we are facing its ill effect.
"Secularist" is even more recent term which is essentially a self hating person. He/she should suffer from inferiority complex, use lot of imported words/phrases (mostly western) and is actually a sepoy of foreigner right while pretending to be a leftist. Irony!!

In western countries the secularism isn't very effective because the majority of them are Christians and each country has its major religion.
But in INDIA there are many religions and it is accommodated in the perfect way. All religions are equal making INDIA perfectly secular.
