When we talk about the constitution, we keep two sorts of constitutions written and unwritten.

• Unwritten constitutions, enjoy fewer powers as compared to written constitutions. For example- India, the USA, Canada and Srilanka holds good for a written constitution. While the British parliament is for an unwritten constitution.

• Written constitutions are made enacted formally in an assembly and framed in a document or a book. While unwritten constitutions are the result of the evolution of the constitution. It is not framed in any official document or book.

• Written constitution can be rigid, flexible or both. While unwritten constitutions are definitely flexible.

• Written constitutions are formally enacted in the form of laws. While unwritten constitutions are evolved and cannot be quoted.
