In the plant xylem means type of tissue which transport Water from roots to other part of plants body xylem contain xylem parenchyma ,vessel etc In the plantphloem means the type plant tissue which transport food other parts of plant body .phloem contain drive tube ,phloem parenchyma , campanion cells

Xylem: Xylem cells provide for upward movement of water and dissolved materials absorbed from the soil by the roots to other parts of the plant.
The xylem tissue consists of trachieds and vessels also called tracheary elements, and xylem parenchyma respectively.
Phloem: It provides a passage for the downward movement of food manufactured in the leaves to various parts of the plant.
The phloem consists of sieve tubes, companion cells, phloem parenchyma cells and phloem fibres.
