Hey Mate

Organised Sector

•It covers all the enterprises or places of work where terms of employment are regular.

•The employees of this sector are registered and have a known identity.

•They have to follow all the laws, rules and regulations mentioned by the government like Factories Act, Minimum Wages Act, Shops and Establishment, etc.

•All the processes and procedures are formal and direct.

•Employees enjoy job security as their employment is regular.

•They are expected to work only for a fixed number of ours. If they work more, they are paid overtime.

•They are assured paid leave, payment during holidays, gratuity, etc.

•The employer has to ensure facilities like drinking water, safe environment, etc.

Unorganised sector

•This sector is characterised by small and scattered units which are outside the control of the government.

They are not registered by the government.

•They do not follow the rules and regulations made by the government.

•They do not enjoy job security.

•Jobs are low paid and irregular.

•There is no provision for overtime, paid leave, etc.

•Employment is not secure that is the employer can ask the employees to leave anytime.

•Employees are not paid the days they do not work.
