Dew is the moisture that occurs when air comes in contact with the cold surface whereas frost occurs when freezing water comes in contact with the cold surface.

What is the difference between dew and frost?

  • Dew formed  when the temperature near the earth surface is low whereas frost formed when the temperature is less than the freezing point
  • Dew is present in liquid form whereas frost is present in frozen form
  • Dew is seen in the morning whereas frost is seen when dew is below the freezing point
  • Dew formed in condensation of air whereas frost formed due to freezing of water droplets
