Diversity divides India as a nation

Explanation:

  • India is a unitary country with diverse races, religions, traditions ... India is a nation with diversity. The same differences that once unified this nation in religions, cultures and customs are the same differences that have today taken a toll on it.
  • A rapid deterioration of the diversity of religions embodied by religious freedom in India has occurred in recent years. The political change is interpreted by many Hindus as a mandate to shift to a Hindu-only country. Though there has been a great deal of bigotry against Muslims, violence against Christians has dramatically increased.
  • In the face of this universal human right, the Indians speak out. In recent years , thousands have gathered in India, including church organisations, to protest against increasing religious persecution and show solidarity with the oppressed.
  • In India, social environments have produced the democratic mechanism. In the name of religion, faith, caste, politicians draw and split voters. The secular structure of the country is critically at stake because social inequality and intolerance of people's values , attitudes and faiths grow.
  • The ensuing social tensions and resentment lead to an increase in divisive phenomena such as communalism, regionalism, language affiliations and so forth.
