Divide 1020 between A, B and C so that A gets two third of what B gets and B gets one forth of what C gets. Find the share of each

Solution :-

Given : Divide 1020 between A, B and C.

Let the C's share be x

B's share = 1/4 × x = x/4

A's share = 1/4 × 2/3 × x = x/6

According to the question,

=> x + x/4 + x/6 = 1020

=> (12x + 3x + 2x)/12 = 1020

=> 17x = 1020 × 12

=> x = (1020 × 12)/17 = 720

Hence,

A's share = x/6 = 720/6 = 120

B's share = x/4 = 720/4 = 180

C's share = x = 720
