Let,

The two parts as x and y respectively.

So,

x + y = 11

=> y = 11 - x

Now,

product of numbers = 24

=> x × y = 24

=> x × (11 - x) = 24

=> 11x - x² = 24

=> - x² + 11x - 24 = 0

So,

The quadratic equation is - x² + 11x - 24 = 0

You can multiply it by (-1), you will get the equation as -

x² - 11x + 24 = 0

In both cases, value of x will be same.
