Divide 120 into two parts such that 2/3 of one part is equal to 2/5 of the other part.

Let the first part = x

Second part = 120 - x

According to the problem given ,

2/3 of first part = 2/5 of second part

2/3 × x = 2/5 × ( 120 - x )

Multiply 1/2 bothsides, we get

x /3 = (120 - x ) /5

5x = 3( 120 - x )

5x = 360 - 3x

5x + 3x = 360

8x = 360

x = 360/8

x = 45

Therefore ,

First part = x = 45

Second part = 120 - x

= 120 - 45

= 75
