Given:

Principal=₹12000

To Find:

Divide 12000 in equal parts simple interest at 6% for first 2 years=simple interest at 8% on the second part for 3 years.

Solution:

Let the first part be ₹x.

Then, the second part =₹(1200-x)

SI on ₹x at 6% p.a. for 2 years:

(\dfrac{x \times 6 \times 2}{100})

=₹(\dfrac{3x}{25})

SI on ₹(12000-x) at 8%p.a. for 3 years=₹\dfrac{(12000-x)\times8\times3}{100}\\

=₹\dfrac{(72000-6x\times2)}{25}

\dfrac{3x}{25}=\dfrac{(72000-6x)}{25}\\3x=72000-6x\\9x=72000\\x=8000

first part=₹8000

second part₹(12000-8000)=₹4000.
