Step one: Equation at the end of step 1.

(((x3)  -  5x2)  -  24x)  -  20

-

Step two: Checking for a perfect cube.

x3-5x2-24x  is not a perfect cube.

-

Trying to factor by pulling out:

Factoring:  x3-5x2-24x-20

Thoughtfully split the expression at hand into groups, each group having two terms:

Group 1:  -24x-20

Group 2:  x3-5x2

Pull out from each group separately:

Group 1:   (6x+5) • (-4)

Group 2:   (x-5) • (x2).

Answer is:  (x2 - 7x - 10) • (x + 2).

Hope this helps you! I worked this out on paper so it might not be right!
