\large\sf\underline{Question:-}

Divide 23 into two parts such that three times the smaller number is equal to two times the larger number plus 9. Find the smaller part.

\large\sf\underline{Solution :-}

Let's assume that the smaller number be x.

Then the other number will be ( 23-x ) .

Now, according to the question :

\sf\:3x=2(23-x) +9

\sf↦\:3x=46-2x +9

\sf↦\:3x+2x=46 +9

\sf↦\:5x=46 +9

\sf↦\:5x=55

\sf↦\:x=\frac{55}{5}

\tt\purple{↦\:x=11}

\sf\:So\:smaller\:number\:x=11

\sf\:and\:other\:number\:23-x=23-11=12
