Answer:

18, 14

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the larger and smaller parts be x and y, respectively.

According to the question:

x + y =32   --- (i)

2x² = y² +  452    ---- (ii)

From (i), we get

x = 32 - y    ---- (iii)

From (ii) and (iii), we get

2(32 - y)² = y² + 452

⇒ 2y² - 128y + 1596 = y²

⇒ y² - 128y + 1596 = 0

⇒ y² - 114y - 14y + 1596 = 0

⇒ (y - 114) - 14(y - 114) = 0

⇒ y = 114, y = 14{Ignore y = 114}

⇒ y = 14.

Putting the value of y in equation (iii), we get

x = 32 - 14

x = 18

Therefore,

Hence, the numbers are 18 and 14

Hope it helps!
