Divide 3y^4-8y^3-y^2-5y-5 by y-3 and find the quotient and remainder

3y^4/y=3y^3

Subtract y×3y^3-3×3y^3from above one

then it will become

y^3-y^2-5y-5 this is first equation

then again

y^3/y=y^2

Subtract y×y^2-3×y^2

from first equation

it will become

2y^2-5y-5 this is second equation

then

2y^2/y=2y

Subtract y×2y - 3× 2y from second equation

it will become

y-5

Subtract y×1-3×1 from y-5

it will become 2

remainder is 2

quotient is y^2+2y+1
