Let 1x, 2x and 4x . Then,
According to the question:
1x + 2x + 4x = 42
=> 7x = 42
=> x = 42 ÷ 7
=> x = 6
Therefore, (1x)= (1 × 6) = 6
(2x) = (2 × 6) = 12
(4x) = (4 × 6) = 24
Hence, the numbers in which 42 can be divide are 6, 12 and 24.
Hope it helps you...
