x = 42. If one part is 42, then the other part will be 2/7 * x = 2/7 * 42 = 2 * 6 = 12. Hence the two parts are 42 and 12.

Let one part be x.

Then the other part will be 2/7 x.

According to the question

x + 2/7 *x =  54

7x + 2x/7 = 54

9x/7 = 54

9x = 378

x = 378/9

x = 42.

If one part is 42, then the other part will be 2/7 * x = 2/7 * 42 = 2 * 6 = 12.

Hence the two parts are 42 and 12.

Hope this helps!
