Solution :

We have to divide into two parts and the ratio for it is 5:3

So, Let frist part = 5x and the second part = 3x.

Now for finding two parts in the ratio 5 : 3?

According to Question:

$5x + 3x = 64 \\ = > 8x = 64 \\ = > x = \frac{64}{8} = 8$

So, Frist part = 5 × 8 = 40 cm .

And

Therefore, second part = 3 × 8 = 24 cm .

Hence, frist part = 4cm and the second part = 24cm .
