Answer:

total = 750

part 1 = x

part 2 = 750 - x          [ i.e., if u take the 1st part "x" from the total, u get the 2nd part]

10 % of x= 20 % (750 - x)

10/100 * x = 20/100 (750 - x)

10/100 *x= 15000/100-20/100 x

10/100x+20/100x= 15000/100  [x terms on one side...constants on the other side]

30/100 x  =150   [cancelling 0 in 15000/100]

3/10 x = 150       [cancelling 0 in 30/100]

x = 150 * 10/3

x= 50 * 10

x= 500

part 1 = x

         = 500

part 2 = 750 - x

        = 750 - 500

         = 250

ANSWER

total=750

part 1 =x

part 2=750-x [i.e if you take the 1st part *x* from the total, u get the 2nd part]

10%of x =20%(750-x)

10/100*x=20/100(750-x)

10/100*x=15000/100-20/100 x

10/100x+20/100x=15000/100 [ x term on one side... constants on the other side]

30/100 x =150 [canceling 0 in 15000/100]

3/10 x=150 [ canceling 0 in 30/100]

x=150 * 10/3

x=50 * 10

x=500

part 1 =x

=500

part 2 = 750-x

=750-500

= 250
