Solution -

Let one part be £ 3x

So, the another part be £ 7x

According to Question,

Given : Both numbers = £90

3x + 7x = 90

⇒ 10x = 90    [By transposition]              

⇒ x = 90 / 10

⇒ x = 9

Required Numbers-

3x = 3(9) = 27

7x = 7(9) = 63

Hence, the required numbers are £27 and £63
