As per the question we have 96 chocolates and we have to divide it in such a way that 5 parts will remain with Raju and 7 parts with Ravi.

Let value of 1 part be "x" number of chocolates

Raju have 1x x 5 = 5x chocolates

Ravi have 1x x 7 = 7x chocolates.

Equation :- 5x + 7x = 96

=> 5x + 7x = 96

=> 12x = 96

=> x = 96/12

=> x = 8

Therefore, each part have 8 chocolates.

Raju's part = 5x = 5 x 8 = 40 chocolates .

Ravi's part = 7x = 7 x 8 = 56 chocolates.

                                OR

Raju will get 40 chocolates and Ravi will get 56 chocolates.

Number of chocolates=96

We have to divide chocolates between Raju and Ravi in the ratio 5:7.

Chocolates to Raju = 5x

Chocolates to Ravi = 7x

5x+7x = 96

12x = 96

x = 96/12

x=8

Raju = 5x = 8 x 5 = 40

Ravi= 7x = 8 x 7 = 56
