Let the first part be 2x

and second be 3x,

2x+3x= 8.4

5x= 8.4

x= 8.4/5

x=1.68

Now,

first part= 2x

= 2×1.68

= 3.36cm.

second part= 3x

=3×1.68

=5.04cm.
