Given: The expression = 50a4 ÷ 8a2

To find The Quotient and the remainder

Solution: There is a branch in mathematics which is called algebra and where we perform addition, multiplication, division, and subtraction. We can perform these operations by solving the like terms of the variables only.

Here the Dividend is 50a⁴ and the divisor is 8a² and we have to find the quotient and the remainder.

∴ 50a⁴÷8a²

= 50a⁴/8a²

= 50a²/8   [dividing by a² to the numerator and denominator]

= 25a²/4  [dividing by 2 to the numerator and denominator]

Now from 25a²/4, 6 is the quotient and 1 is the remainder since (4×6=24) that is close to 25 and (25-24=1) came as the remainder or the left part of the dividend after division.

Hence the Quotient is 6 and the remainder is 1.
