Let the numbers in the ratio 2 : 3 : 5 be 2x, 3x and 5x

Total rupees (Sum) = 1020


According to the question,

2x + 3x + 5x = 1020

10x = 1020

x = $\dfrac{1020}{10}$

x = 102



Dividing ₹1020 in 2x

=> 2 × 102

=> ₹204


Dividing ₹1020 in 3x

=> 3 × 102

=> ₹306


Dividing ₹1020 in 5x

=> 5 × 102

=> ₹510




Verification :-

2x + 3x + 5x = 1020

=> 2 × 102 + 3 × 102 + 5 × 102 = 1020

=> 204 + 306 + 510 = 1020

=> 1020 = 1020


∴ LHS = RHS ✔✔

such that 2x + 3x + 5x = 10x

divide it.........

such that 10x = 1020
x = 1020/10
x = 102
