divide rupees 12500 into two parts such that the interest on one part at 12% per annum in 3 years is rupees 1080 more than the interest on the other part at 8% per annum in 5 years

Let the parts be x and 12500-x
12/100x 3 =3*8/100*(12500-x)+1080
36x =100000-24x+1080000
60x =1180000
X = 1180000/60
