Answer:

x³-2x²-x+2

put x=2

2³-2*2²-2+2=8-8-2+2=0

so, (x-2) is a factor of x³-2x²-x+2.

x³-2x²-x+2→

=> x²(x-2)-1(x-2)

=> (x²-1)(x-2)

(1 can be Expressed as 1²)

=> (x²-1²)(x-2)

(a²-b² = (a+b)(a-b))

=> (x+1)(x-1)(x-2)

The factors of x³-2x²-x+2 are→

(x+1)(x-1)(x-2)

=>x³-2x²-x+2/x-2=(x+1)(x-1)(x-2) /(x-2) =(x+1) (x-1)
