\sf\huge\bold{Answer:}

\fbox{part a) }

Given :

an amount of Rs 540

To find :

540 in the ratio 8:12

Solution :

The total number of parts that you are dividing 540 into = 8+12 = 20

Each part will be of = Rs540÷20 =Rs 27

Now,

⟶ 1st part of ratio = value of each part × 1st part of ratio

= Rs 27 × 8

=Rs 216

Similarly,

⟶2st part of ratio = value of each part × 2st part of ratio

= Rs 27 × 12

=Rs 324

Hence,

 \implies \: 8 : 12 = Rs \: 216 : Rs \: 324

\fbox{part b) }

Given :

an amount of Rs 8944

To find :

8944 in the ratio 1:5:8

Solution :

The total number of parts that you are dividing 8944 into = 1+5+8 = 14

Each part will be of = Rs8944÷14 =Rs 638.8

Now,

⟶ 1st part of ratio = value of each part × 1st part of ratio

= Rs 638.8 × 1

=Rs 638.8

Similarly,

⟶2st part of ratio = value of each part × 2st part of ratio

= Rs 638.8 × 5

=Rs 3194.2

and,

⟶3st part of ratio = value of each part × 3st part of ratio

= Rs 638.8 × 8

=Rs 5110.8

Hence,

 \implies \: 1 : 5  : 8 = Rs \: 638.8 : Rs \: 3194.2 : Rs \: 5110.8 \\
