\bigstar Question:

  • Divide 12x + 36 by x - 9 using long division method.

\bigstar Solution:

  • Answer in in attachment.
  • If there's any problem, you can ask.

So,

\rightarrow Quotient = 12

\rightarrow Remainder = 144

\rightarrow Dividend = 12x + 36

\rightarrow Divisor = x - 9

\star Verification:

We know that Dividend

= Divisor × Quotient + Remainder

= ( x - 9 ) ( 12 ) + 144

= 12x - 108 + 144

= 12x + 36

\therefore Verified too.

Answer :-

Quotient = 12

Remainder = 144

Dividend = 12x + 36

Divisors = x - 9

Solution :-

x - 9 \: ) \: 12x + 36 \: ( \: 12 \\   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 12x - 108 \\  - \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  +   \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  -  -  -  -  -   \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   144

Verification

Dividend = Divisors × Quotient + Remainder

12x + 36 = 12 \times (x - 9) + 144 \\  \\ 12x + 36 = 12x - 108 + 144 \\  \\ 12x + 36 = 12x + 36 \\  \\ l.h.s. = r.h.s.
