 \frac{(1+y^{3})}{(1+y)} \\= \frac{1^{3} + y^{3}}{(1+y)} \\= \frac{(1+y)( 1^{2} - 1 \times y + y^{2})}{(1+y)}

 = 1 - y + y^{2}

Therefore.,
