According to the question, we have to divide the line segment AB = 9cm in the ratio of 2 :3.

Let consider the parts are = 2x  , and 3x

∴According to the question:-

2x + 3x = 9

5x = 9

x = $\frac{9}{5}$ = 1.8

So,

2x =  2× 1.8 =3.6 cm

3x =3 × 1.8 = 5.4 cm

Hence we have to draw one part of length 3.6 cm and other 5.4 cm
