Answer:

The value of the sum of 3/8 and (-5/12) by the reciprocal of (-15/8 × 16/27) is 5/108..

Solution:

Sum of

\begin{array} { c } { \frac { 3 } { 8 } \text { and } - \frac { 5 } { 12 } = \frac { 3 } { 8 } + \left( - \frac { 5 } { 12 } \right) = \frac { 3 } { 8 } - \frac { 5 } { 12 } = \frac { 9 - 10 } { 24 } = - \frac { 1 } { 24 } } \\\\ { - \frac { 15 } { 8 } \times \frac { 16 } { 27 } = - \frac { 10 } { 9 } } \end{array}

And, reciprocal of -\frac{10}{9} =-\frac{9}{10}

Hence, on dividing -\frac{1}{24} and -\frac{9}{10}

= - \frac { 1 } { 24 } \div - \frac { 9 } { 10 } = \frac { 1 } { 24 } \times \frac { 10 } { 9 } = \frac { 5 } { 108 }
