beingshivani7: If
beingshivani7: If x + 2y = 9, then y = 9 - x / 2
beingshivani7: If xy = 4, then y = 4 / x

x + 5 = 0 ⇒ x = -5

Replacing x with -5 in equation:

(-5)² + 9(-5) + 20 = 0

25 + (-45) + 20 = 0

45 - 45 = 0

0 = 0

Hence,

          x² + 9x + 20 is divisible by x + 5
