p(x) = x² + 3x + 2

g(x) = x + 1

put x = -1

p(-1) = (-1)² + 3(-1) + 2

==> 1 - 3 + 2

==> 3 - 3

==> 0

Dividend = divisor × quotient + remainder

x² + 3x + 2 = (x + 1) × quotient + 0

quotient = (x² + 3x + 2 )(x + 1)

quotient = (x + 1)(x + 2) / (x + 1)

quotient = (x + 2)

Hence, On dividing p(x) by g(x) we get remainder 0 and quotient (x + 2)
