Given :  Pedro bought (18x³ – 39x² + 8x + 16) pesos worth of tokens for your classroom Christmas party.

each token is worth (3x – 4) pesos,

To Find : how many tokens did Peter buy

Solution:

each token is worth (3x – 4) pesos,

Peter bought token =  y

Total value =  (3x – 4)y pesos,

Total value =  (18x³ – 39x² + 8x + 16) pesos

Equate

 (3x – 4)y  =  (18x³ – 39x² + 8x + 16) pesos

=> y =   (18x³ – 39x² + 8x + 16) ÷   (3x – 4)

                         6x² - 5x - 4

       (3x – 4)      (18x³ – 39x² + 8x + 16)

                          18x³  - 24x²
