Answer:

Divisibility rule for 3 states that a whole number is completely divisible by 3 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 3. For example, the number 72 is divisible by 3 as (7+2)= 9, which is divisible by 3. Again, 111 is also divisible by 3 as sum of the digits (1+1+1)= 3 is divisible by 3.

Given : divisibility rule of 3

Explaining :

Rule : divisibility rule of 3 is the sum of the all the digits of the number should be divisible by 3

To check the divisibility add the digits of the given number if the answer is divisible by 3 then the the number will divisible by 3

Example : check the 3 divisible rule for given numbers

57, 123, 61 ,

1) Sum of digits in 57 = 5+7 = 12 is divisible by 3 so 57 is divisible by 3

2) Sum of digits in 123 = 1+ 2+ 3= 6 is divisible by 3 so 123 is divisible by 3

3) Sum of digits in 61 = 6+ 1= 7 is no divisible by 3 so 61 is no divisible by 3

Now we can check weather above statements are right or wrong by doing following sums

57÷ 3= 19 , 123÷3 =41 , 61 ÷ 3=2.99...
