Answer:

‘Division of labour’ describes that there are specialised organelles to perform various life supporting functions of cell.

There are number of cell organelles which perform different functions for example-

Mitochondria - it is power house of cell, which plays specific role in - *Production of ATP through respiration. *Production of heat. *Storage of Ca2+ ions.

Endoplasmic Reticulum-* It forms skeletal frame work. *It creates and folds proteins and then transfer these to Golgi apparatus. *Helps in metabolic activities due to presence of different enzymes. *Forms nuclear membrane during cell division.

Golgi apparatus- *Sorting and processing protein. *Helps in formation of enzymes, secretory vesicles and secretions.

Nucleus - *It is brain of the cell. * it controls all cell organelles to perform their functions.

Lysosomes- *It helps in intercellular digestion. *It helps in removal of dead cells. *
