Mauryans had a flourishing economy. The people were mostly engaged as farmers, artisans, cattle herders and Carpenters.Many were engaged as traders. Taxila, Ujjain, Pataliputra and Broach were important trading centres .They carried goods to SriLanka ,China Egypt and Rome.
