During this festival, people light up their houses and shops with Diyas. During the evening and night people walk around in their towns and cities enjoying the beautiful sight of Diwali.

Diwali celebration lasts for five days and Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world take part in the celebration. The festival, which coincides with the Hindu New Year, celebrates the new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.

According to mythology, the festival of Diwali also commemorates the return of Rama, Sita, Lakshman Hanuman to the kingdom of Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile. During the exile Rama fought and won a battle against the demons and Ravana the demon king.

Diwali, also known as the "Festival of Lights" in India.

We will be discussing the festival Diwali, which is a festival of Hindu culture but in India, it is celebrated by people of all religions.

Diwali is also referred to as the "Festival of Lights" in India because during this festival people decorate their houses with candles and different LED lights of various colors. During this time, people gather with their relatives, distribute sweets among themselves and even wear new clothes to celebrate on this special occasion. People of all ages get engaged during this festival, the kids and teenagers by bursting firecrackers and the adults will sit together with their relatives for gossiping and remembering different stories from past. In some parts of India, people distribute new clothes, firecrackers, and sweets to the needy and poor people so that they also have the opportunity to enjoy this festival. While celebrating this festival, people would forget all the sorrows and pains and keep them busy, enjoying this festival.

We should not burst firecrackers which causes sound as animals especially dogs are very frightened of that sound. We should see to it that no one can burst firecrackers near any dogs, we should be responsible for their safety as they are actually harmless creatures. So enjoy festivals but have a safe one, do not spread enmity among people as festivals teach us to remain together and instruct us to maintain unity.
