i) Her hand makes a dark shadow because a shadow is a dark (real image) area where light from a light source is blocked by an opaque object. It occupies all of the three-dimensional volume behind an object with light in front of it.

II) Diya can change the size of a shadow by moving your body or the object closer to or farther from the light. Shadows grow bigger and fuzzier as the object moves closer to the light source, and smaller and sharper as the object moves farther away.
