Diya purchased 15×3/4=63/4m

Gave her sister 1/3 of cloth available with diya=> sister has 1/3×63/4m

=21/4m cloth

Thus, cloth remaining with diya is

63/4-21/4

=42/4

=10.5 m

Answer:

Length of cloth purchased by Diya=15 3/4 m

Length she gave to her sister=3/4 ×15 3/4

Length of cloth remaining with Diya=15 3/4 - (3/4 × 15 3/4)

=63/4 - (3/4 × 63/4)

=63/4 - 189/16

LCM of 4,16=16

=252/16 - 189/16

=252-189/16

=63/16

=3 6/16

=3 3/8

She had 3 3/8 m of cloth remaining
