during sexual reproduction , the sperms which are formed in testis are haploid. similarly the ovum formed in ovary is also haploid. when a sperm and an ovum is met a diploid structure called zygote is formed. thus , the constancy of the genetic material is made due to meiosis occuring due to the formation of sperm and ovum.

Answer:
DNA content has the tendency to double itself during sexual reproduction due to combining of the genetic materials from 2 parents . how will the problem of DNA doubling be solved to maintain in the consistency of the genitic material throughout the species.
Explanation:
During sexual reproduction, the sperms which are formed in testis are haploid. Similarly, the ovum formed in ovary is also haploid. When a sperm and an ovum is met a diploid structure called zygote is formed. Thus, the constancy of the genetic material is made due to meiosis occurring during formation of sperm and ovum. Due to meiosis 2n changes to n in both male and female gametes therefore when both combine and form zygote n+n 2n no chromosome is present in zygote.
