DNA is a double stranded molecule contains all our genetic material which passes from one generation to another during cell division.

It is composed of three subunits: a sugar molecule, a nitrogenous base and a phosphate group. A chromosome is composed of double-helix structure of DNA which has thousands of genes encoded on it.
