Yes as in aquoeus state they have a free ions as H+ ions to conduct electricity and amount of acid in the solution .

Eg the gaseous form or dry state of HCl do not conducts the litmus blue into red . But when it is in aqueous form it have free ions of H+ which turns blue litmus into red.

dont take things that way

when acid is added to water then it breakes down into its constituent elements and as acid has hydrogen molecule thus it releases H+ ions

these H+ ions are highly unstable and thus combines with the water molecules to form hydronium ions(H3O).
