No. CBSE has made such a provision for Class XI and Class XII but not for Class IX and Class X. Henceforth, you need to focus on main subjects more as compared to additional subjects

The management has made compulsory for the students to study a subject of vocational from the year 2017-18. This subject will be considered as an additional subject.
So students have to study 6 subjects in place of five.
If any student does not pass in one subject either math, science or social science, then the vocational subject will replace it.
To pass in a subject, the student must acquire 33 marks in both board as well as practical exams.
