In fact, in some theories, everything is vibrations. But a vibration is not a sound. Sound occurs when there is a vibration in the air, the vibration is in the range of (it is assumed) human hearing, and there’s someone there to hear it.

  • The body with vaccum in it cannot produce any sound.
  • Sound easily passes in the air medium, the wave formation decides the pitch and freqency. The sound can also travel in water bodies.
  • The fish creating sound can be heard. But sound cannot move in vaccum because the vacuum does not contain any air particle or medium for sound propagation. Hence sound cannot be heard.
