Cells don't look alike because different shapes and structures are needed for different tasks. For example, a neuron is a long "string" shape in order to stretch to connect to other neurons.Similarly, a heart cell is diamond shaped cell which is needed in order to stretch and contract the heart and remain attached to the other cells.

No, all the cells in our body are different by one or another way.

They have one similarity that all of them have essential organelles like mitochondria, golgi apparatus etc. Moreover except gametes, all cells have same no. of chromosomes.

Explanation:

Epithelial Cells

  1. These cells are present in the outer covering of body and all the organs.
  2. These may be columnar, ciliated, squammous and cuboidal.
  3. They always have a layer of cells called basement cells at their base.

Muscle cells

  1. These are the cells that lie on the outer  or inner surface of organs.
  2. They are single layered and cells are closely packed.
  3. they help in the voluntary as well as involuntary movements.

Connective cells

  1. These cell are mostly embedded in the matrix in between the tissue.
  2. These may be solid or fluid.
  3. They help in connecting various body parts, giving shape and strength to the body.

Nerve cells

  1. These cells are present in whole body and connect the body parts to the brain.
  2. They are the longest cells of the body.
  3. They help us in responding to a stimulus.
