Infectious disease are can be spread in many ways, person-to-person transmission is only one way in which a disease can be spread.

STIs are an example of a disease transmitted through person-to-person contact.

Broadly speaking, infectious diseases may be transmitted via contact transmission and vehicle transmission. Contact transmission involves direct and indirect contact.

·  Direct contact includes person-to-person transmission where the disease is spread, through physical contact with an infected person.

· Indirect contact involves transmission through contact with inanimate contaminated object such as taps, used tissues and unsterilized needles.

Hey!!
Thanks for the question!!

Here is the answer..

It depends on the type of sickness.
For example,
If it's a cold , be sure that you are not near them when they are coughing or sneezing.

Similarly, if someone is suffering from cancer,
Cancer is a non communicable disease, hence it cannot pass or spread one people to another.

But, Infectious diseases are transmitted from person to person by direct or indirect contact of person.

Also,

1. Through Direct contact :

Diseases which are spread by direct contact are called contagious diseases . They can also be spread through objects touched by the infected person.

2. Through indirect contact :

Infectious diseases can also be spread indirectly through the air or any other means.

Hence, it's not like that all diseases spread to people comming in contact with a sick person.

I hope my answer helped!!

Thanks!
