Hello!

Do all living things respire?
Yes! All living things do respire.

Let's go deep into this topic-:

Why do all living things respire?
Respiration is process of breathing.
We know that, living things need energy to grow and to continue the life, living organisms takes in the oxygen and this oxygen helps to break down the complex food substances present in the body, turning it into water and carbon dioxide particles, and also helps in different biological processes which takes place in our body.

And this breakdown releases energy, thus, for releasing energy, respiration is necessary.

Hey!

Living things breathe, we have read this since long. In advance language, we say, all living things respire.

Yeah, all living things do respire. Whether it's plants or humans.
Humans take in oxygen.
Plants take in carbon dioxide.

Respiration- A process of breathing.
Why is respiring essential for living things?
Respiring is necessary for living beings in order to survive on this planet as all biological processes take place in presence of oxygen only.
When we breathe, we take in oxygen, oxygen breaks down the food particles and converts it into energy in form of Adenosine Tri Phosphate (ATP) and also into water particle's.

And energy is obviously important to survive.
Thus, respiration is essential for life.

Hope it helps...!!!

Nikki57: Thanks
Anonymous: If ALL biological processes take place in the presence of oxygen only then what do you think about Anaerobic respiration.
Anonymous: And Nitrogen fixation by Rhizobium which is actually inhibited by presence of Oxygen
