no all substances do not change from solid to liquid and liquid to gas on heating..
some substances changes from solid state to gaseous state directly on heating which is also called as sublimation eg-camphor ,dry ice(solid CO2)

no all substances doesn't change from solid to liquid and liquid to gas on heating
when solid changes to liquis it is ccalled melting
when liquid changes to solied it means freezing
but some substances undergo a process called sublimation ..it is the process by which solid directly changes to gas and gas changes back to solid directly
eg,camphor,naptholen
